An opportunity for youth in digital

The Center for Digital Thriving is currently accepting applications for the Digital Thriving Fellows program for the 2024-2025 academic year. This program is open to researchers, educators, podcasters, artists, and enthusiastic young individuals. It offers a unique opportunity for youth to excel in the digital sphere by fostering leadership and empowerment.

What is the fellowship about?

The fellowship seeks to bring together individuals from various disciplines to form a supportive community focused on fostering digital agency among young people. This includes an emphasis on equity, youth-centered approaches, and an optimistic outlook.

The fellows are encouraged to contribute their unique perspectives and ideas to shape a future where young people can thrive in a technology-driven world. 

The fellowship has three primary goals: community building to create a network of practice and mutual support, idea incubation to develop new ideas, practices, and tools, and supporting work on emerging topics relevant to thriving in a tech-rich world, offering a great opportunity for youth to engage and grow.

  • other experts with a history and passion for advancing digital thriving 

Types of Fellowships

  • Funded Fellowships: Receive $25k for project-related expenses.
  • Externally-Funded Fellowships: Join the community with your own funding for project support.

Fellowship Structure

Selected fellows will experience the following exciting opportunities:

  • Engage in dynamic center-wide meetings and seminars.
  • Receive and provide support from fellow peers and the esteemed Center team.
  • Contribute your expertise to cutting-edge research and development projects.
  • Enjoy access to Harvard Libraries, dedicated communications support, and collaborative office space at Project Zero.

The program’s values are centered around creating an opportunity for youth to collaborate, make their thinking visible, and have a meaningful impact. The Center believes that “Together we are more,” and that work is stronger with shared experiences and diverse perspectives. There’s also an emphasis on the importance of providing opportunities to showcase work-in-progress through public presentations.

The goal is to create useful resources such as reports, curricula, or digital tools that specifically cater to the needs and interests of young people. This is a program committed to being accountable and adaptive, always with a focus on providing a positive and lasting impact for youth.
